Environmental Stewardship

One could argue that the most precious amenity at Breakfast Point was provided by Mother Nature herself. Reminiscent of their other communities in Sydney, Breakfast Point is a testament to Rose’s commitment to environmental stewardship. Fanciful green spaces such as the Village Green, nestled in the heart of the community, and the gardens of Silkstone Park offer great spaces for anything from quiet gatherings and peaceful strolls to rowdy, raucous games of cricket. Benches punctuate the greens and beckon passers-by to enjoy a conversation or quiet reflection. The harbour provides a dramatic backdrop, with reclaimed weathered wood seating taken from the wharf that once stood there, allowing the future and the past to come together as one contemplates the view. Breakfast Point is rich in natural beauty and is designed to maximize this beauty for all residents to enjoy and share.

“We realise that a sense of community can enhance the lives of those who live within it. We have therefore put attention and detail into creating a suburb where a beautiful living environment is augmented by expansive parks, lush gardens and outdoor community facilities.” Margaret Rose

Breakfast Point - Conservation

the Breakfast Point Community will stand the test of time economically, socially and environmentally. An example is the creation of an underground water system, designed to capture rain and storm water for re-use in the irrigation of the generous open spaces of Breakfast Point. Three underground water tanks, storing approximately 800,000 litres, have been placed underground, conserving and reusing rainwater collected from roads, roofs and other hard surfaces. A further two tanks will be installed to increase storage capacity to 1,000,000 litres.

The installation of these underground water tanks is part of Rose’s ongoing policy, encouraging a water sensitive approach to its developments. Not only will this system enhance the quality of life for people today, dramatically reducing water cost and usage for irrigation purposes, but will also ensure the needs of future generations are met as part of the ongoing commitment to the community of Breakfast Point.
